Further particulars on articled clerk status
As a law student, you would like to become an articled clerk within the state administration? If you have successfully completed your law studies, serving your articles may be the next step in your career. In two years you will get to know the key professional branches of a law school graduate in five stations, each lasting a number of months. Your articled clerk status ends with the second state examinations; you will need to pass these to be eligible for appointment as a judge, public prosecutor or to be admitted to the bar as a lawyer. A successful pass of the second state examinations is also a prerequisite on principle for employment in the general administration of the state of Lower Saxony. The appointment of articled clerks is organised by the Higher Regional Courts of Brunswick, Celle and Oldenburg. These courts carry out the admission and selection of applications in separate proceedings.
