The position is integrated in the national care-for-rare research network MyPred - Network for young individuals with syndromes predisposing to myeloid malignancies that is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)

Your task
- Discovery and characterization of new genetic entities with predisposition to myeloid malignancies
- Understanding the process of malignant transformation and acquired genetic events to translate this knowledge into surveillance programs and treatment decisions for children with genetic predisposition to myeloid neoplasia
- Understanding functional and phenotypic differences of N-terminal and C-terminal RUNX1 variants in RUNX1-associated familial platelet disorder with associated myeloid malignancies
- University Degree (PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Medicine, Bioinformatics, Bio-Mathematics, or a related discipline)
- Strong background in molecular biology and human genetics, commitment and work ethic
- Experience in next-generation-sequencing application and analysis
- Experience in establishing novel molecular methods
- Very good written and oral English and German skills
- Beneficial would be programming skills (e.g., R, Python, Perl, C, or C++)
